Receiving Supervisor

:

This hands-on job is responsible for the employees in our facility, ensuring its effective operation by preparing work schedules, assigning tasks, coordinating the flow of work and assigned projects, overseeing completion of work, and monitoring performance of your team.

This is an onsite role in our Irving TX facility with a schedule of: Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Supervise the unloading of goods and materials from incoming shipments, ensuring they are handled efficiently and safely
• Check received goods against purchase orders or invoices for accuracy in quantity and quality
• Coordinate the inspection of received items for damage or discrepancies and initiate claims for damaged goods
• Organize and store inventory in designated areas for easy retrieval and maintain accurate records of all receiving activities
• In consultation with superior and subordinate personnel as appropriate, develops short- and long- term goals and plans for areas of responsibility
• Liaison between teams, shifts, and departments, and partner with internal and external customer
• Ensure accurate accounting and physical control and security of all material stored in stockroom locations, of all material issued to and returned from production and of all finished goods and associated accessories
• Oversee RMA process of merchandise from customers, ensuring that all returns are processed efficiently and accurately
• Accomplish supervisory and human resource objectives such as hiring, performing performance reviews and mentoring/coaching and disciplinary actions
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including: efficient workflow patterns, established performance standards, effective delineation of duties and responsibilities, suitable staffing levels, appropriate supervision, and systems for timely communication of pertinent information
• Create and/or modify processes, in collaboration with manager, to allow for the processing and servicing of new accounts and products, as well as improving existing processes when practical and cost effective
• Drive engagement across area of responsibility and work with the team to foster a strong engage culture
• Work with manager to review the peakon score and create action plans within the tool
• Review Power BI reports to ensure that the team/dept is attaining the desired performance metrics
• Follow up with the leaders on their areas of opportunity
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment for personnel to work in while ensuring all safety and environmental regulations are followed
• Support committees and programs for safety, fire prevention, disaster recovery and so forth
• Ensures the development of specific plans for inclusion in these programs
• Serves as liaison with other organizational components; establishes and maintains the working rapport necessary to develop cooperation and effectively integrate area services into the company's overall business fulfillment system
• Receives and investigates all complaints concerning his or her area(s) of responsibility and its personnel; determines veracity of such and (as
• necessary) takes corrective or disciplinary action and/or prepares reply
• Remains abreast of developments in the field(s) by pursuing a program of self-development, participating in professional organizations, interacting with peers, reviewing pertinent literature, and so forth
• Incorporates advancements when practicable and cost effective
• Directs the preparation of records as well as recurring and special reports and analyses for area(s) of responsibility ensuring that they are complete, accurate and prepared on time
• Reviews and interprets these in order to ascertain the extent to which goals are being attained
• Initiates corrective action as necessary

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• Must have HS Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3-years of experience in a lead role within a fast-pace, high-volume, manufacturing/repair environment
• Strong knowledge and abilities with use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Prior experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving or related environment required
• Ability to identify potential process and workflow improvements
• Demonstrated experience with direct supervision and coaching of others
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to successfully interface with all levels of Company personnel as well as external personnel
• High energy professional with the ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships with all suppliers and vendors
• Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with problem solving, brainstorming sessions, strategy development and conflict resolution
• Driven, goal-oriented, never confuses effort with results
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment
• May be required to work across multiple shifts

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Associates Degree
• 3+ years of experience in supervising 5+ hourly associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
