Description JOB DESCRIPTION The Counselor IB will be successful working in a residential treatment program which is operated on a social rehabilitation therapeutic community model. • Assist with supervising resident outings and other recreational activities. • Participate in monthly staff meetings, be willing/able to address issues that relate to coworker communication, collaborate/deliberate on resident review and agency business. • Assist in facilitating weekend chore meetings and house clean-up. • Lead a weekly topic group; plan and facilitate group weekend activities. • Provide transportation to evening 12 step meetings. • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; answer phones and communicate with staff, residents and agency visitors; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. See well enough to read data on a computer screen and text in written documents; perform extensive computer keyboard operations. Capable of the following extended activities: walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
