Senior Underwriter, Inland Marine Location: Chicago (IL), Omaha (NE), Springfield (MO), Albany (NY), or New York City (NY). Responsibilities Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal submissions within your assigned territory to ensure profitable growth. Communicate the Argo Group brand consistently and impactfully to retail and wholesale brokers. Expand broker relationships by strengthening existing partnerships and cultivating new ones in key markets. Represent Argo Group in client and broker meetings, demonstrating expertise and elevating customer experience. Build and manage a strong submission pipeline aligned with production goals and business mix targets. Leverage market insights and contacts to generate business, gather intelligence, and cross‑sell complementary products. Qualifications In‑depth knowledge of Inland Marine policies (Transportation, Physical Damage, Cargo, Builders Risk), including product nuances, compliance, and risk management, with 3+ years of related underwriting experience. Proficient negotiation and insurance underwriting skills. Adaptable and able to thrive in an ever‑evolving market. Sharp analytical skills to navigate financial statements and complex data. Strong broker communication, networking, and relationship‑building aptitude. Disciplined focus on execution, accuracy, and follow‑through with a sense of urgency. Outstanding organizational and time‑management talents. Compensation The typical base salary range is $115,000 - $150,000 (based on experience and location). The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
