Maintenance WorkerTo provide unskilled and diversified duties in connection with the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment. Tasks involve basic repairs, cleaning, landscaping, washing, and moving appliances and heavy manual labor. Provides general assistance to other staffEssential tasks of the position:Sweeping and washing floorsCutting and weed whacking grassPicking up trash and litter from the groundsRemoval of snow and ice from buildings/groundsMinor maintenance repairs such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, etcWashing windowsCleaning units for paint and leaseCleaning public bath rooms, kitchen and laundry roomPosition requirements:Ability to understand English language to an acceptable level for productivity standards, requiredHigh school diploma or GED, preferredExperience in maintenance and/or construction, preferredSkills and abilities:Ability to maintain confidentiality in all assignments as mandatedAbility to work harmoniously with other agency personnelAbility to relate to and interact with elderly/disabled and family residents in low and moderate income housing settingsAbility to be flexible and perform work under time pressureAbility and willingness to learn appropriate skills, accept responsibility and to complete assignments, as directed
