We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Custodian who takes pride in keeping our buildings safe, clean, and running smoothly.If you enjoy solving problems, working independently, and making a meaningful impact every day, we'd love to meet you.What You'll Do:As a Custodian, you'll work closely with the Manager of Facility Services to maintain our agency's facilities and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and visitors.Your responsibilities will include:Performing general building maintenance and repairsCoordinating or completing repairs to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, sprinkler, and other building systemsMaintaining the interior and exterior of agency buildings, including restrooms, common areas, floors, and groundsResponding to maintenance requests such as changing light fixtures, replacing switches, moving furniture, landscaping, power washing, and general repairsAssisting with preventative maintenance to keep facilities operating efficientlyMaintaining agency equipment and vehicles, as assigned, and ensuring maintenance supplies are stockedResponding during inclement weather in accordance with agency proceduresWorking collaboratively with the Facilities team and other departments to support agency operationsParticipating in training and professional development opportunitiesPromoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone we servePerforming other related duties as assignedWhat You Bring:High school diploma or GED requiredAbility to work independently and follow detailed instructionsKnowledge of general building maintenance, safety practices, and basic first aidStrong problem-solving and communication skillsReliable transportation to travel between agency locationsAbility to successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including criminal background, medical clearances, and immunization requirementsWhy Join Children's Friend?A mission-driven organization committed to equity, inclusion, and communityA collaborative and supportive workplace cultureOpportunities for professional growth and meaningful impactComprehensive benefits and professional development supportEqual Opportunity EmployerWe welcome candidates from all backgrounds and are committed to creating a workplace that supports and celebrates diversity.
