Residential & Commercial Field Service Electrician (Journeyman)

Picture your day starting in the Greater Richmond area: you grab your company vehicle, review the schedule, and head to your first call. By mid-morning, you’ve restored power to a residence after diagnosing a faulty breaker. After lunch, you’re troubleshooting lighting controls at a retail space, then finishing the afternoon bending conduit and verifying code-compliant connections at a light industrial site. Every stop, you’re the trusted expert customers count on for safe, professional service.

Role Snapshot

This first-shift position blends installation, maintenance, and repair across homes, commercial properties, and light industrial environments. You’ll investigate symptoms, pinpoint the root cause, make code-compliant fixes, and leave each site organized and safe. The work is steady year-round, offers competitive pay, and includes the use of a company vehicle during the workday. Overtime is available, and you’ll occasionally rotate into 24-hour on-call coverage to support urgent customer needs.

Pay Range

$32 – $38 per hour, depending on experience.

What You’ll Tackle

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components in residential and commercial settings.
• Diagnose issues, determine safe corrective actions, and complete code-compliant repairs.
• Deliver professional, customer-focused service and clear communication at every job.
• Maintain a high bar for safety, organization, and NEC compliance.

Tools & Equipment You’ll Use

Multimeters, voltage testers, wire strippers, pliers, cutters, screwdrivers, drills, saws, conduit benders, and fish tape.

What You Bring

• Virginia DPOR Journeyman Electrician license.
• Hands-on experience with residential and commercial electrical work.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and impeccable safety habits.
• Professional communication and customer service abilities.
• Good driving record to use company vehicle.

Schedule

Full-time, first shift with overtime available and occasional 24-hour on-call rotations.
