About the Position

Our client in Iowa seeks a dedicated Orthopedic Surgeon for a 5-day assignment beginning Dec 23, 2023. This vital locum tenens role involves providing comprehensive inpatient and on-call coverage, with no clinic responsibilities. The Physician will be responsible for examining, admitting, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and consulting on a wide range of conditions, injuries, and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system. Responsibilities and Duties

• Examine, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages.
• Address and manage various conditions, illnesses, and injuries of the extremities, spine, and associated structures through medical, surgical, and physical means.
• Manage trauma, infections, tumors, and metabolic disturbances of the musculoskeletal system.
• Treat deformities, injuries, and degenerative diseases of the spine, hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow.
• Address primary and secondary muscular problems and the effects of central or peripheral nervous system lesions affecting the musculoskeletal system.

• Required Board Certifications: Orthopaedic Surgery
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Inpatient and Call Only
• Call Schedule: Out of house call
• Patients per day: 10-20 across both locations
• LOA: 5 days
• Staffing Mix: 4 Physicians, 4 Advanced Practice Providers. Supervision of APPs not expected.
