Superintendent

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on commercial construction projects from mobilization through project completion. This role manages subcontractors, schedules, site logistics, safety, and quality control to ensure projects are delivered on time and according to specifications.

Projects may include commercial renovations, tenant improvements, site development, and ground-up construction, requiring strong coordination across multiple trades and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with experience managing fast-paced commercial construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and productivity.
• Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and daily work plans.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
• Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Manage site logistics including material deliveries, staging, access, and equipment coordination.
• Review drawings and proactively identify field conflicts, constructability concerns, and scheduling impacts.
• Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain daily reports, project logs, and field documentation.
• Communicate regularly with Project Managers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding project progress and issues.
• Assist with project closeout activities including final inspections and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

• 5–15+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Experience managing tenant improvement, renovation, sitework, or ground-up commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Proven ability to lead field teams and maintain project productivity.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced construction environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial renovations or design-build projects.
• Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or scheduling software.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
• Experience coordinating projects in occupied or active operational environments.
