Requirements Active RN License Degree from accredited nursing program BLS & ACLS Certifications Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Oncology setting Other requirements determined by client facility Duties & Responsibilities The Oncology RN will care for critically or chronically ill cancer patients, administer chemotherapy, implement new symptom‑treatment methods and monitor patient progress. The role may include specialization in pediatric hematology/oncology or breast cancer. Provide care for cancer patients throughout all stages, focusing on the acute phase. Assist patients ranging from post‑surgical to near‑terminal in managing disease and treatment, including administering chemotherapy. Educate patients about treatment options, procedures, and disease particularities.
