Integrity Engineer

MVP Holdings is a privately owned energy logistics company headquartered in Wichita, KS. MVP and its subsidiaries provide gathering, transportation, processing, storage, distribution, marketing and other midstream services to independent oil and natural gas producers, refiners of petroleum and products and other market participants located throughout the United States.

The Integrity Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving the companys tank and facility integrity programs, including inspection planning, evaluation of inspection results, risk analysis, and the scoping of repairs and mitigation. As part of the Engineering team, this role works closely with operations, corrosion, procurement, and project teams to identify and manage asset risk, resolve field issues, support capital planning, and maintain the records needed to demonstrate safe, reliable, and compliant operation.

Essential Functions

• Develop, execute, and continuously improve MVPs tank and facility integrity programs
• Lead inspection, maintenance, and repair programs for storage and breakout tanks, including: planning and maintaining inspection intervals in accordance with API 653 and STI SP001, evaluating inspection reports for structural integrity, settlement, and fitness-for-service, developing repair scopes and coordinating tank cleaning, repair, and return to service with operations and contractors.
• Manage the integrity of above-grade facility piping and equipment at terminals, pump stations, and truck stations, including atmospheric corrosion inspections, piping assessments, and hydrostatic testing.
• Perform engineering-based fitness-for-service evaluations and risk assessments to prioritize tank and facility repairs and mitigation.
• Prepare required documentation and reports for governing agencies.
• Support tank overfill protection, secondary containment, and spill prevention requirements at tank facilities.
• Maintain the tank register and integrity calendar, tracking inspection due dates across assets.
• Serve as the engineering point of contact for truck station tank facilities, with a regular on-site presence and timely response to operations requests.
• Develop tank and facility integrity project scopes, cost estimates, and budgets to support annual capital and maintenance planning; prepare AFEs and initiate MOCs for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with corrosion and operations teams on tank bottom and facility cathodic protection, coatings, and corrosion findings.
• Support air permit analyses and emission modeling for tank facilities.
• Ensure tank and facility data, drawings, inspection records, and assessment documentation are created and maintained in document management systems.

Other Functions

• Complete other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by management.
• Support regulatory audits, inspections, and internal compliance reviews.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of tank and facility integrity standards and regulations, including API 653, API 650, API 579, API 2350, STI SP001, ASME B31.4, and 49 CFR Part 195.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting tank and facility inspection reports and hydrostatic test results.
• Ability to perform engineering-based fitness-for-service evaluations and risk assessments.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and other engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with regulatory authorities.
• Ability to research, interpret, and maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulations as they apply to the companys operations.
• Able to understand company needs and develop workable solutions to project issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor the message to the audience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person or remotely, across the organization, one-on-one, or in group settings.
• Able to maintain professional relationships with contractors, peers, supervision, and regulatory agencies.
• Able to work in a team environment and demonstrate courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
• Hard-working, flexible, and results-oriented; willing to roll up sleeves and pitch in as needed, with the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency using the MS Office and 365 suite of tools.

Education, Certifications, License

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or related field) is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain a PE license, is preferred.
• Valid Drivers License and Insurable Driving Record is required.

Work Experience

• 5+ years of engineering experience in asset integrity for hazardous liquid storage tanks and facilities.
• Experience with API 653 tank inspection and repair is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, stand and kneel for an extensive amount of time.
• Ability to grasp and use hand tools and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift 25 lbs. periodically.
• Ability to sit and operate a computer for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperature due to weather conditions and operating conditions.
• Ability to drive/ride in vehicles over rough roads and to wear necessary PPE when on field sites.

Travel

• Up to 30% travel to terminals, stations, tank facilities, and contractor or vendor locations, as necessary.
• Ability to periodically travel for extended periods of time.
