Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Stacks Property Services is looking for a reliable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support maintenance operations across our managed properties and company locations.

This role is for someone who takes ownership, notices issues before they become larger challenges, and follows work through completion. You do not need to know everything. You do need to recognize what you know, what you do not know, and what needs to happen next.

Responsibilities

• Inspect properties and identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and operational issues.
• Complete basic repairs, including patching, painting, caulking, hardware replacement, minor plumbing, fixture replacement, adjustments, and small carpentry tasks.
• Troubleshoot issues before escalating them.
• Coordinate with tenants, property managers, vendors, and internal team members.
• Take before-and-after photos and document completed work.
• Maintain tools, supplies, vehicles, and inventory.
• Create accurate materials lists before requesting purchases.
• Protect company property, tenants, occupants, and company assets while working.
• Communicate delays, access issues, safety concerns, and unknowns promptly.
• Keep work orders updated in the required system.
• Complete other property support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, apartment maintenance, construction, remodeling, property maintenance, HVAC support, plumbing, electrical, or a related trade.
• Basic ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to diagnose simple issues and determine whether to repair, monitor, or escalate.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work indoors and outdoors.
• Smartphone capable of taking photos, messaging, and updating work orders.
• Ability to pass required background and driving checks.
