Base Pay $130,419.00 - $172,805.00 / Year Other Compensation Shift Differential / Crisis Differential Required Degree Masters Manage Others No Description Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner –Child and Adult Western Tidewater Community Services Board is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and decisive Child & Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our 24/7 Psychiatric Crisis Receiving Center and Adult Crisis Stabilization. This position is M-F (3pm-11pm) and provides rapid psychiatric assessment, stabilization, prescribing of medication, and disposition support for individuals experiencing acute mental health and substance use crises. The Child & Adult PMHNP will work closely with an interdisciplinary crisis team to help individuals receive timely care in the least restrictive and most appropriate setting. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for supporting youth mental health in a community-based setting. What You’ll Do: Conduct live face to face comprehensive psychiatric evaluationsto assess mental health and substance use disorders in children and adolescents Diagnose psychiatric conditions using DSM-5 criteria and develop individualized treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state and federal regulations Short term monitoring of patient progress, and establish treatment plans as needed, and ensure medication safety Provide psychoeducation to patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapists, case managers, and primary care providers to ensure holistic care Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards Stay current with evidence-based practices, continuing education, and professional standards of care What You’ll Bring: Master’s Degree with current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP) , valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Ability to practice autonomously in the State of Virginia (preferred).
