Surgical Tech

JOB SUMMARY Performs a variety of technical duties to assist with obstetric surgery and patient care in the Labor & Delivery areas. Functions as a member of the patient-centered care team to provide direct patient care activities in the obstetrical services/maternal and newborn areas under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a medical provider. Assists nursing and medical staff with performance of procedures and tests. Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and performs care activities such as specimen collection, phlebotomy, intravenous (IV) insertion, Foley Catheter care and documentation of observations in the health record. Key Responsibilities Assist with obstetric surgery and patient care in Labor & Delivery areas. Provide direct patient care activities in obstetrical services/maternal and newborn areas under supervision. Assist nursing and medical staff with procedures and tests. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Perform specimen collection, phlebotomy, and IV insertion. Perform Foley Catheter care and document observations. Schedule / Shift 3x12 day/night rotating shifts: 0650-1920 and 1850-0720. Every 3rd weekend rotation required. Required Qualifications CNA certification required. Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech training program required. Certifications BLS required. Experience 2 years of experience required. Clinic experience required. Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment. Must have L&D and scrub experience. Skills Phlebotomy IV insertion Foley Catheter care Patient care Scrub experience Floating / On-Call Call required (3 shifts per 6-week period). Float to cover L&D and Women's Health. #J-18808-Ljbffr
