In this role, you'll maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the mechanical systems that keep our operation running safely and efficiently. You'll work on a wide variety of industrial equipment while expanding your skills through our cross-trained workforce model, giving you the opportunity to support both maintenance and production operations. Position Snapshot

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour schedule (4 days on, 4 days off; rotating days and nights; 6:00 AM / 6:00 PM start)

Location: Onsite | Martinsville, VA

Position Type: Full Time

Position Classification: Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $24/hr - $33/hr

Reports To: Maintenance Superintendent

The Maintenance Technician II (Mechanical) plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of our manufacturing equipment. By performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting production operations through our cross-trained workforce model, this position helps maximize equipment uptime, improve operational efficiency, and ensure safe, continuous manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and production systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures while identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Install, adjust, align, and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, piping, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and other plant equipment.
• Perform equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and commissioning activities to support safe and efficient operations.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, work orders, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Safely operate production equipment as needed to support the Company's cross-trained workforce model.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other authorized mobile equipment following established safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Production, Electrical & Instrumentation, Laboratory, and leadership teams to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation while supporting continuous improvement, housekeeping, and 5S initiatives.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical, vocational, or trade school training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, millwright work, welding, or a related field is preferred.
• Two or more years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in manufacturing, metals processing, chemical processing, mining, foundry, or another heavy industrial environment.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial mechanical equipment.
• Experience working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, piping, and related equipment.
• Welding, fabrication, machining, rigging, or precision alignment experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, work orders, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Willingness to become cross-trained in production operations and safely operate manufacturing equipment as business needs require.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mobile equipment or obtain required certifications after hire.
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins as needed.
• Commitment to working safely while following all company safety, quality, environmental, and operating procedures.
