Clinical Research Program Lead

Clinical Research Program Lead (2600016X) The Clinical Research Program Lead (CRPL) is a senior clinical research professional responsible for the operational logistics and coordination of research and/or research intervention projects under the direction of the principal investigator. They plan, implement, and manage research operations, ensuring protocols are conducted in accordance with GCP guidelines, federal and sponsor regulations, and organizational policy. Primary Responsibilities Plan, conduct, and manage research and/or intervention projects in compliance with federal and institutional regulations. Serve as a resource for inquiries and maintain communication with investigators, participants, sponsors, IRBs, DSMBs, and other research entities. Mentor, train, and direct clinical research coordinators, assistants, and interns. Identify quality and performance improvement opportunities and develop action plans. Facilitate IRB applications, manage budgets, and coordinate grant applications, progress reports, and regulatory submissions. Interface with faculty, collaborators, and administration to report project progress and troubleshoot barriers. Functional Accountabilities Demonstrate adherence to responsible conduct of research standards. Maintain confidentiality of data. Ensure appropriate use of research funds and resources. Comply with annual training requirements. Protect patient/family confidentiality. Communicate responsively, respectfully, and assertively. Collaborate with physicians and health care professionals throughout all phases. Manage day‑to‑day program operations and meet sponsor/data center deadlines. Ensure timely IRB submissions and reporting. Document patient assessments per regulations, guidelines, and SOPs. Oversee recruitment, enrollment goals, and participant retention. Manage resources within the study budget and track milestones. Oversee data management and develop systems to organize, collect, report, and monitor data. Assist upper management in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, policies, and procedures. Design and maintain organizational structure and staff for effective operations. Incorporate budget considerations in planning and decisions. Assist PI with progress reports, data updates, and grant submissions. Professional Development Review scientific literature to stay abreast of new developments. Attend and contribute to team meetings and set project timelines and deliverables. Represent the organization at regional and national meetings. Respond to customer needs and follow up until needs are met. Teamwork and Communication Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior. Partner with all team members to achieve goals. Remain receptive to others’ ideas and opinions. Qualifications Minimum Education: BA/BS in science, technical, or health‑related field with >5 years of relevant experience, or MS with 3 years relevant experience, or doctoral degree with >2 years relevant experience. Minimum Work Experience: 2–4 years of clinical research experience or equivalent combination of education and experience managing NIH or industry‑sponsored clinical research projects, including supervisory/management experience.
