Assistant Program Manager - Scattered Site Housing Program

More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.Program Overview: The Scattered Site Housing Program (SSHP) –provides 270 scattered site-housing units to HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) clients. All the units are leased in the agency’s name. Sixty-seven units are dedicated for families and 203 units are for single individuals. The program has two components to assist clients succeed in housing, socials services and operations. Case management staff focusses on removing barriers to maintain medical care and achieve viral suppression by ensuring that all clients’ basic needs are met and that clients are connected to needed services, such as mental health and substance abuse. The operations component focuses on the housing units meeting habitability standards by working with landlords and management companies to address major repair issues and complete minor repairs, as well as identifying new units, negotiating leases and making units ready when there is a vacancy.What does the Program Manager do:Understand all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staff.Train staff in program responsibilities, processes, and procedures, and ensure that all staff meets contract requirements in their daily work.Work with staff to set realistic weekly and monthly performance targets in accordance with contract requirements.Coordinate and supervise all day-to-day activities of direct reporting staff.Periodically observe direct reporting staff engaging with clients and/or supervisory staff.Conduct weekly client progress reviews with staff.Conduct periodic internal file review and implement Quality Assurance measures as needed to ensure quality service delivery to clients.Conduct weekly supervision for direct reporting staff.Communicate with peers in other CAMBA programs on issues related to client progress.Conduct face-to-face home visits with clients to provide servicesDocument all interactions with clients in the case recordsAssist in the analysis of program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements.Organize onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff.Confer with the Program Manager on programmatic and operational matters.Attend and represent the organization at staff, funder, and external agency meetings as required.Review and sign time sheets.Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff.Conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and/or clients’ families and periodic reassessments as needed.Prescreen clients over the telephone for eligibility and schedule intake appointments as needed.Plan, coordinate, and facilitate social/peer support events, including group facilitation for clients as needed.Conduct annual mental health assessments of clientsRespond immediately to emergencies and inform supervisorWhile not on call, may need to be reachable afterhours and on weekends in case of client emergencyIf in the event the program is understaffed, supervisors will take on the responsibilities and duties of the supervisees.Other duties as assigned.Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required.Must possess or obtain New York State licensure (LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC) within 6 months of employment.Minimum Experiences and Skills Required:Relevant experience as described above, preferably in a mid-sized (250+ employees) organization.Familiarity counseling servicesExcellent written & verbal communication.Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.Please note that this position does not provide and is not eligible for clinical hoursPreferred Qualifications:Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole.Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS and related issues.Pre and/or Post Employment Requirements:General pre-employment background checks, including SCR and criminal background checks, medical clearance such as a TB test, and other clearances as required by the funder. #J-18808-Ljbffr Camba Inc
