Job Description The Surgical Technician will have the opportunity to assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, as well as assist in preparation of surgical services to ensure suite setup is appropriate. Key Responsibilities Competency to create and maintain a sterile field, providing equipment and supplies, performing sponge, sharps and instruments counts. Providing visualization of operative site Independently pulls cases utilizing preference sheets and OR special equipment lists. Updates, reviews lists makingchangesasnecessary.Reviewscases,andequipmentpriortostartofcase. Isscrubbedinandhasequipmentpriortopatient arrivingintotheORsuiteVerifyingefficacyofequipment, operating, maintainingandverifyingandrecordingefficacyofequipment Determinesanddocumentsefficiencyofequipment. Recordsreflectaccurate descriptionofoperations, sterilization, and use of equipment Familiarwithproperassembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attends in-serviceonnew equipment Attendsin-serviceonnew equipment, completes competency evaluation successful in operation and maintaining equipment used within the department In-depth knowledgeof principles of sterile technique; General knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures with emphasis on ourspecificprocedures. Required Qualifications Basic knowledge of Orthopedic Surgery Current Surgical Technologist certification required Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) recognized by American Heart Association required Preferred Qualifications Minimum six (6) months experience in an orthopedic surgical area preferred. Compensation The pay range for this position is $32.55 - $48.83/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
