PROJECT MANAGER

Project Manager – 60006692 Working within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program, the Project Manager will lead high‑priority projects, manage the SAMH project portfolio, and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery across the state of Florida. This role requires a proactive, organized, and detail‑oriented leader who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Engage cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders. Manage multiple high‑priority projects, developing project charters, schedules, and risk management plans and ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Lead cross‑functional improvement teams to identify process inefficiencies, design solutions, and implement change with measurable impact. Maintain the SAMH project portfolio, providing oversight, monitoring, and reporting to senior leadership. Develop and refine process‑improvement templates and tools; align unit staff with Six Sigma standards. Communicate status updates, risks, and outcomes to senior management on a regular basis. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio, and MS Project. Strong analytical skills to collect, evaluate, and analyze data for decision making. Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Self‑direction and mandatory collaboration with diverse teams. Knowledge of program planning, evaluation, and process‑improvement methodologies. Ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources, and drive projects from inception to completion. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, public health, or related field preferred; four years of project‑management experience with legislative mandates or program implementation, or four years of program‑operations experience managing projects across multiple units. Master’s degree may substitute for one year of preferred experience. Two years of formal business communication writing. Four years of project or program management involving conflict resolution among competing interests. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
