Salary Range: $260,000-$310,000 plus Bonus and Benefits package

The Opportunity


A leading law firm is looking for an experienced litigator to step into a senior role focused on insurance and reinsurance disputes. You'll need 6+ years of litigation experience, a knack for strategy, and a passion for advocacy, especially in arbitration settings. This is a unique opportunity to do meaningful, high-level work alongside a supportive and collaborative team.


As Special Counsel, you'll take on substantial responsibility from day one. That means drafting complex briefs, preparing witnesses, handling expert discovery, and stepping into key roles during trial or arbitration. You'll also help shape case strategies that not only solve problems but serve clients' broader business goals.


This is a senior-level, off-track position which is perfect for someone who wants to dig deep into sophisticated matters without the pressure of a partner track.



What You'll Do:

• Lead and manage complex litigation and arbitration cases, particularly in the insurance and reinsurance space
• Draft persuasive, high-level legal submissions
• Prepare fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial
• Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, pretrial work, and trial / arbitration advocacy
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver practical, business-minded legal solutions

What We're Looking For:

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
• Bar admission in New York
• Strong experience with complex commercial litigation; arbitration experience is a bonus
• A background in insurance or reinsurance disputes
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Confidence and professionalism when working with high-stakes clients
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
