AI Governance Lead

**The Opportunity:**We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Governance Lead to directly support executive decisionmakers within one of the largest National Security Federal Agencies that are continuing to design, implement and evolve their AI Governance and Policy practices. In this pivotal role, you will champion the safe, secure, and compliant deployment of artificial intelligence across the enterprise. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI innovation, robust cybersecurity protocols, and federal compliance, ensuring that all AI initiatives align with agency missions and federal mandates within complex, multi-cloud architectures. **What You'll Work On:*** Serve as a trusted advisor to the CTO, providing strategic direction on AI governance, ethical AI deployment, and risk management framework implementation.* Support the authoring, refining, and institutionalization of high-impact federal policy memos, directives, and governance standards guiding agency-wide AI usage.* Partner closely with cybersecurity teams, data scientists, cloud architects, and legal counsel to embed governance metrics directly into the system development lifecycle.* Oversee the security and compliance reviews of AI models and tools operating across complex, enterprise-level multi-cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.* Monitor and ensure absolute alignment with executive orders, OMB mandates, and federal cybersecurity standards governing AI and data privacy.* Evaluate AI pipeline vulnerabilities, including data poisoning, model drift, and adversarial attacks, and design technical mitigation guardrails.* Full AI Operating Model Governance.* Unify the fragmented AI lifecycle process coordinating with AI Architects to provide cohesion. The world can’t wait. **You Have:** * 8+ years of experience working in a professional environment* 8+ years of experience supporting Federal Leadership and advising C-suite executives, Cybersecurity, or Governance organizations* 8+ years of experience supporting the authoring and development of official federal policy memos, directives, or implementation plans* Experience in cybersecurity principles, including NIST frameworks and FedRAMP processes* Experience evaluating, deploying, or securing enterprise frameworks and systems within multi-cloud environments* Experience building criteria to support AI Model Enablement strategies and criteria to assess model security and viability for use* Experience conducting technical and operational risk assessment for complex IT software, data platforms, or algorithmic models* Knowledge of the AI life cycle, machine learning pipelines, and governance structured required for predictive and generative AI* Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Policy, or Information Technology**Nice If You Have:** * Experience with Google Vertex AI or Gemini Enterprise and AWS Bedrock* Experience developing governance frameworks for the introduction of Agentic AI within an organization* Experience translating complex technical ai risks into actionable insights for non-technical leadership* Knowledge of red-teaming methodologies* Possession of exceptional communication skills* Master's degree in Cyber Strategy or Public policy**Vetting:** Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.**Compensation**At Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
