Analyst II

The Analyst II, under the general direction of the Director within the J1 Directorate at Joint Forces Headquarters, performs complex, sensitive, and specialized analytical and administrative work in support of personnel programs and statewide initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for independently researching, evaluating, and coordinating program activities that require advanced analytical skills and have department-wide impact. The position provides consultative services to management, staff, and partner agencies, and contributes to the planning, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and program improvements within the J1 directorate.

The Analyst I, under the supervision of the Director within the J1 Directorate at Joint Forces Headquarters, performs analytical and administrative work in support of the CMD GI Bill and related personnel program activities. The incumbent gathers, reviews, interprets, and analyzes program information; assists with evaluating eligibility and compliance; supports program coordination and reporting; and develops recommendations and procedures in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and established guidelines. The position communicates with applicants, participants, schools, staff, and partner agencies and assists with program improvements, projects, and administrative activities. Assignments require research, analysis, sound judgment, and discretion, with guidance available from the supervisor on more difficult or sensitive matters.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) hours each month.
