Accounting Specialist Houston, TX | Full-Time | Accounting & Finance Why Work With Us Supportive team environment with ongoing training and development Exposure to diverse accounting functions and financial operations Stable, full-time accounting position with long-term career potential Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency Professional workplace focused on accuracy, collaboration, and success What You’ll Do Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger records Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Prepare and manage payment runs, including checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers Analyze financial data and research discrepancies to ensure accuracy Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and prepaid expense schedules Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Organize and maintain financial documentation in accordance with record retention standards Support internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation Assist with payroll accounting and related account reconciliations Help improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy Respond to accounting-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders What We’re Looking For High school diploma or GED required One to three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience Strong understanding of accounting procedures and general ledger processes Experience with account reconciliations, financial reporting, and transaction processing Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external service Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development Knowledge of financial compliance regulations and industry standards is a plus Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our workforce.
