Now Hiring: Staff Accountant – Houston, TX ( Accounting Jobs | Financial Reconciliation | Used Machinery & Equipment Accounting ) Mustang Cat , the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Southeast Texas, is actively hiring a Staff Accountant to support financial operations and reporting for our Houston-based Accounting team. This role focuses on used machinery sales , inventory reconciliation , and financial analysis for internal departments and partnership entities. Top Benefits for Staff Accountants: Great Work-Life Balance Tuition Reimbursement Vast Growth Opportunities Job Stability Full-Time Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) with Employer Matching Paid Vacation, Sick Time, and Holidays On-Premise Health Clinic Key Responsibilities: Perform costing and inventory reconciliations for Used Machinery sales Report and file Heavy Equipment Inventory Tax (HEIT) and Motor Vehicle Inventory Tax (MVIT) monthly Reconcile Accounts Receivable , Notes Receivable , and Bad Debt Allowance accounts Maintain and reconcile Miscellaneous Accruals Handle accounting for select partnership entities Prepare monthly gross profit and expense analysis for Used Machinery and partnership divisions Assist with general ledger, internal reporting, and month-end close activities Support financial analysis and audit preparation as needed Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BBA preferred) Experience & Skills Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience Strong reconciliation and financial analysis abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office , especially Excel Must have experience with XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP , Pivot Tables , and data analysis Experience with QuickBooks is a plus Highly organized , detail-oriented , and self-motivated Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Join a trusted Texas-based company — Building Texas… Powering the World.
