Volunteer Grant Writer — In Your Corner Health Foundation

In Your Corner Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit expanding access to mental health care for those who cannot afford it, reducing mental health stigma, and providing dedicated programming for veterans. We’re seeking a volunteer grant writer to help us secure funding to grow our reach — from sliding-scale mental health services to veteran programming and humanitarian mission work.

Responsibilities

Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with our mission (foundations, corporate giving programs, government/AHCCCS-adjacent funding, veteran-focused funders)

Draft, edit, and submit grant proposals and letters of intent

Develop and maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements

Collaborate with foundation leadership to gather program data, outcomes, and stories that strengthen applications

Prepare required post-award reports and ensure compliance with funder requirements

Maintain a library of boilerplate content (mission statement, organizational history, program descriptions, impact data) for reuse across applications

Qualifications

Prior grant writing experience preferred (nonprofit, healthcare, or veteran services background a plus)

Strong written communication skills and attention to detail

Ability to translate program impact into compelling, funder-ready narrative

Self-directed and comfortable managing deadlines independently

Familiarity with nonprofit funding landscape (private foundations, corporate grants, government grants) helpful but not required — training available
