Power Plant Operator

Operate compressors, pumps, pulverizers, boilers, turbine generators, switchyard equipment and auxiliary equipment Produce electricity, potable water, smelting steam and high-temperature water for the smelting plant Control electrical power generation to ensure continuous power supply for smelter operations Operate and maintain fuel systems, ash systems and demineralizer systems Monitor and maintain boilers, turbines, electrostatic precipitators, condensate systems, feed water systems and high-voltage switching equipment Perform other essential functions of the Power Plant Operator position Work shifts, including weekends Requirements High school diploma or GED 3 years of full-time light to heavy industrial or power industry work experience Ability to perform physically demanding work activities Ability to work shifts, including weekends Preferred experience with fuel systems, boilers, turbines, electrostatic precipitators, condensate systems, feed water systems and high-voltage switching Ability to monitor and maintain power plant systems Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in operating and maintaining power plant systems, including compressors, boilers, and turbines, while ensuring continuous power supply and compliance with safety standards. Capable of performing physically demanding tasks and working flexible shifts to support plant operations.
