Entry-Level Mechanical AssemblerThis role offers an excellent entry point into precision manufacturing for individuals with mechanical aptitude and an interest in hands-on work. You will perform light mechanical assembly using basic hand tools to build composite pallets and assemblies that support circuit boards through automated production processes. With strong performance and the right attitude, you will have a clear path to grow into a machine operator and ultimately develop into a machinist.ResponsibilitiesPerform light mechanical assembly of composite pallets and related components that support circuit boards through SMT and Wave Solder automated processes.Use basic hand tools and power tools to assemble parts according to blueprints and written assembly instructions.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly documentation to correctly build units.Carry out deburring and part finishing tasks to ensure components meet quality and safety standards.Follow established production safety standards and shop procedures at all times.Maintain general shop cleanliness and upkeep, including workbenches and surrounding areas.Work at standing benches and remain on your feet for the entirety of the shift as required by production needs.Use measuring tools such as tape measures and other devices to verify dimensions and ensure accurate assembly.Assist with basic electronic and electrical assembly tasks, including simple wiring, when needed.Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance and a strong work ethic to support production schedules.Show initiative and drive to learn how to operate CNC machines with the goal of progressing to machinist-level responsibilities over time.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude, including comfortable and proficient use of basic hand tools such as screwdrivers.Ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks in an industrial shop environment.Capability to read and follow assembly instructions and basic blueprints.Positive, driven attitude with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift and work at standing benches.Demonstrated stable work history with minimal job hopping.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious assembly experience in mechanical, electronic, or electrical environments.Experience reading and working from blueprints and schematics.Familiarity with construction-style tools, including hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and other measuring tools.Exposure to electronic assembly and electrical wiring tasks.Interest and motivation to be trained to run CNC machines and progress toward machinist responsibilities.Decent tenure in prior roles that reflects commitment and reliability.Why Work Here?You join a team that values aptitude, attitude, and work ethic, providing opportunities even to those at the entry level. Work is performed primarily at standing work benches, and you should expect to be on your feet for the full shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The shop focuses on mechanical and electronic assembly, part finishing, and precision work using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools. The workspace emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and organized work areas, with employees following established production safety standards throughout their shift.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
