Position Summary

To serve as the lead mobilizer for JJM in the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center and build authentic Christ-sharing relationships with young people incarcerated there, and connect them to aftercare resources when they get out. This individual will oversee JJM relational ministry activities at the facility, including gospel-centered programming, fun-building times, appointments/mentoring, contacting new youth, and witnessing to facility staff. This person will also occasionally participate in additional fundraisers, advocacy, or prayer events for the ministry.

• Oversee JJM relational ministry actions at the facility, including gospel-centered programming, fun building times, appointments/mentoring, contacting new youth, and witnessing to facility staff.
• Recruit and train new ministry leaders from the student body on campus.
• Delegate ministry leadership responsibility to other members of the cabinet and ministry team and meet weekly with the cabinet members to pray, plan, and build up the ministry.
• Lead weekly meetings for the ministry team that include prayer, community, and relevant training for the ministry.
• Occasionally participate in additional fundraisers, advocacy, or prayer events for the ministry.
• Identify and train the future site director and other cabinet members for the following year of ministry.
• This position does not require the site director to fundraise to cover the cost of their stipend or other YFC activities; funding for this role is established through ongoing donations by a previous JJM director's monthly donor.
• Once a semester, communicate ministry updates to the donors who fund this position, either by meeting them in person or sending them a newsletter with photos.

Essential Functions

Ministry Team Development (60%)

• Recruit, train, and maintain volunteer ministry leader team in accordance with the processes found in the Knowledge Base
• Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site
• Provide training materials and ministry site standards for ministry leaders
• Develop healthy 3 Story teams for each ministry site
• Establish necessary support and guidelines to ensure healthy and growing ministry at all sites
• Be an advocate in the community for young people
• Report progress and ministry updates to YFC

Relational Ministry Action Development (30%)

• Responsible for managing, facilitating and serving in the Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)
• Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs found in the Knowledge Base
• Establish and develop programming materials
• Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

• Bachelor's Degree
• Three years of ministry experience
