Senior Accountant - Cash Accounting & Reconciliations

Description On-site in either Lone Tree, CO or Omaha, NE We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support corporate cash accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities for a large, complex organization. This role partners closely with internal accounting, treasury, operations, and billing teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and SOX-compliant processes. We can facilitate w2 and corp-to-corp consultants. Rate: $35.00 to $45.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly corporate cash accounting activities within the Controller’s organization. Prepare journal entries for cash transfers, write-offs, reclasses, and related month-end activity. Reconcile general ledger cash, investment, and Accounts Receivable accounts to bank statements and supporting documentation. Execute and maintain accounting controls in a SOX-compliant environment for the parent company and subsidiaries. Partner with Cashiering, Operations, Treasury, Billing, and other internal teams to ensure timely and accurate transaction recording and account reconciliations. Support management reporting, aged item reporting, client refunds, payment research, deposit corrections, and ad hoc monthly requests. Experience Requirements 3–5 years of high-volume cash reconciliation or corporate accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and account reconciliation best practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with large enterprise reporting systems preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, ReconNet, Alteryx, or automated account reconciliation software is a plus. Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to collaborate across accounting, operations, treasury, and billing teams. Proactive, results-oriented approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Financial services industry experience is a plus.
