Medical Device Assembler

We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Medical Device Assembler to join our team. The role involves assembling cauterizing surgical instruments in a cleanroom environment, reading processes, and maintaining documentation to ensure quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble medical devices on two or more product lines, meeting or exceeding quantity standards.
• Demonstrate an understanding of Quality System Policies by referencing and explaining written line procedures.
• Complete and maintain accurate records of manufacturing operations on production documentation following appropriate training.
• Understand and carry out instructions from assigned Supervisor or Lead regarding priorities, work schedules, and job standards.
• Adapt to changes in procedures and learn new procedures due to product line and technology modifications.
• Cross-train on various product line operations as needed.
• Assist Assembler III or Lead in training procedures.
• Apply general understanding of LEAN Manufacturing Principles to improve established metrics.
• Inform lead or supervisor of material shortages proactively.
• Maintain a safe work environment by practicing good housekeeping and safety guidelines.
• Maintain acceptable attendance standards and work overtime and varying shifts as needed.
• Use time effectively and constructively, avoiding idle conversation that disrupts others.
• Volunteer in Shared Leadership activities such as Kanban Management, Calibration, and Metrics Board Maintenance.

Essential Skills

• 1 to 2 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO certified assembly experience.
• Ability to communicate via telephone, email, or in person with supervisors, leads, and team members.
• Understanding verbal and written work instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow clean room practices.
• Perform repetitive work according to set procedures, sequence, and pace.
• Fine motor skills and a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination for assembling small parts and subassemblies.
• Operate manufacturing and measurement equipment following training, including microscopes, test equipment, and soldering irons.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• In lieu of a diploma, 2 to 3 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO certified assembly experience.
• Knowledge of Good Documentation Practice, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Basic MS Windows skills and site-specific PC programs.

Work Environment

Join a Medical Device Company with a full Clean Room Environment requiring hair nets, gowns, and booties. Employees must wash hands each time before entering the cleanroom and refrain from wearing makeup.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.80 - $22.88/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
