HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST II

HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST II ‑ 22010695 Requisition No: 877912 Agency: State Courts System Class Title: Human Resources Specialist II Salary: $3,755.62 Monthly Location: FORT LAUDERDALE, FL Responsibilities Maintain personnel records and databases for state and county funded employees. Complete paperwork for personnel actions. Process accommodation requests in accordance with the ADA. Process payroll vouchers and certify payroll for judicial and non-judicial employees. Post and distribute notices of vacancies for court positions. Coordinate parking assignments and security cards for court personnel. Maintain records and process certification for additional compensation for county judges performing circuit judge duties. Process requests and maintain records for senior judge compensation. Respond to in‑person and telephone inquiries regarding personnel matters. Generate correspondence, notices, memos, reports, and other documentation as required. Ensure necessary copies of pertinent forms, materials, and records are filed and distributed. Receive and log applications for vacant positions. Coordinate interviews, prepare interview schedules, conduct background checks, and check references. Receive employee timesheets and verify adherence to FLSA regulations. Maintain database postings and prepare time‑accrual reports for employees. Coordinate and administer required testing for court positions, score tests, and maintain records. Operate common office equipment such as computers, printers, copy machines, telephone and fax systems. Perform additional duties as directed by the Human Resources Manager. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university. At least two years of personnel‑related experience; county or state human resources experience highly preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year‑for‑year basis. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of, or ability to learn, human resources data‑base systems and federal personnel regulations. Ability to become NCIC/FCIC certified. Proficient in personal computer use, word processing, spreadsheets, and office equipment. Organizational skills: establish priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with employees and the public. Ability to use independent judgment regarding confidential information.
