Software Engineer III

Role Description

As a Software Engineer III at Indeed, you will contribute to the development and evolution of software systems that support core products and services used by people around the world. You’ll work on improving existing platforms while also helping shape next-generation solutions as Indeed continues to scale globally.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data partners to translate requirements into well-designed, maintainable software. You’ll participate in technical discussions, contribute to design decisions within your team, and continuously build your skills while solving meaningful, real-world problems.

• Design, implement, and maintain features and services that support core business workflows.
• Contribute to the evolution of existing systems while helping prototype and deliver new capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to maintain quality, reliability, and clarity.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data partners to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify performance and scalability improvements and enhance existing code accordingly.
• Share knowledge and provide guidance to teammates through collaboration and feedback.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively within the team.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience.
• Experience building or contributing to large-scale or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentals.
• A demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability for delivered work.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and enjoyment of solving complex technical problems.
