Harm Reduction Outreach Specialist

What You'll Do

As a key member of our Project Safe Point team, you will:

• Accept participant referrals from Albany County Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility
• Make initial contact with eligible participants on site, as well as in the community with program participants
• Deliver outreach and engagement services in accordance with the service plan
• Work with Syringe Service Program staff to facilitate access to Harm Reduction supplies as needed
• Conduct prevention related harm reduction/risk reduction interventions with participants
• Register for and attend community trainings/workshops to assist with professional development

What We're Looking For

• HS Diploma or GED
• Must have a personal cell phone, valid driver's license, proof of current car insurance and registration and access to a working, reliable vehicle.
• Knowledge of Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, HIV, and Hepatitis C.
• Comfort and experience working with current or former substance users

• Harm Reduction Outreach Specialist schedule: 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM
