Member Benefits Specialist

Job Description The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) is seeking a service-driven and detail-oriented Member Benefits Specialist to support the KLC Insurance Agency by administering employee benefits, assisting members, and ensuring exceptional customer service. What You'll Do: Process and review employee benefit and health insurance applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist members and employers with enrollment platforms, invoices, ID cards, providers, pharmacies, and benefit questions. Provide hands-on support with claims filing, claim resolution, and communication regarding missing or updated information. Educate members on employee benefits, including HSAs, HRAs, FSAs, Section 125 Plans, COBRA, HIPAA, telemedicine, EAPs, and ACA basics. Maintain accurate documentation and notes within the applied software system for all member interactions. Support open enrollment efforts, including preparing packets and assisting with benefit presentations. Collaborate with marketing agents and senior marketing agents to service local agents and member groups, including cross-selling coverage options. Assist with bond services and maintain working knowledge of KLC insurance programs. Provide backup support within the department and assist with special projects as assigned. What We Are Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent with at least three years of experience in the insurance industry. Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Working knowledge of employee benefits and health insurance administration. Experience with Applied Systems and Microsoft Word preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively. Health and Life insurance license required or willingness to obtain.
