Core Roles & Responsibilities

Core mission: The Manager will shift the culture from managing tasks to creating meaning, inspiring team members to bring creativity, initiative, and true ownership to their shifts.

The Manager is an executive mentor and operational director, not an administrative spectator. The primary objective is to manage systems that eliminate operational dependency on any single individual, ensuring consistent execution across every shift. This role prioritizes the active building of a high-performance team culture, real-time coaching on the floor, and the unyielding preservation of core hospitality standards.

Core Roles & Responsibilities

1. Internal Hospitality & Team Development (Priority #1)

Redefine the Team: Cultivate a unified "team" mindset where members show up for each other and shared values.

Connect with Meaning: Bridge the gap between authority and information. Train the team on the "why" behind operational standards rather than just teaching the physical mechanics.

Foster Safe Ownership: Give hourly team members real, cross-trained responsibilities and explicit ownership over distinct components of the business.

Maintain the Intake Vetting: Treat hiring/on boarding as a strict commitment phase. Filter explicitly for long-term ambition and alignment with the company’s internal hospitality culture.

2. Systemized Accountability & Non-Negotiable Standards (Priority #2)

Eliminate Negotiable Standards: Enforce an uncompromising excellence standard across the board. Treat minor operational infractions (e.g., lateness, minor dress code issues) as cultural liabilities that cannot be tolerated or allowed.

Utilize Visible Tracking Systems: Implement daily "masterminds" and visible dashboards. Ensure that individual commitments and team metrics are easily trackable by everyone on the floor.

Maintain the Chain of Command: Ensure all operational processes are continuously updated and documented as they evolve. This builds a business system that functions independently of ownership presence.

3. Strategic Floor Leadership & Live Coaching (Priority #3)

Lock the Office: Focus on team and guest outcomes before ‘office’ work

Execute Peak Hour Scheduling: Mandate that all scheduling, emails, inventory, and light administrative tasks occur strictly during non-peak, off-hours.

Manage Assigned "Impact Stations": Physically position yourself on the floor where operational friction naturally occurs during a rush. Take direct accountability for high-traffic or high-bottleneck zones.

Execute the "10-Minute Swarm": Perform a sweep of the room every hour. Identify underwater team members, step in for a maximum of 10 minutes to resolve the logistical logjam, and immediately step back out to continue directing operations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Labor & Food/Product Waste Control: Maintaining optimal overhead structures using systemic efficiency frameworks.

Team Retention & Growth: Tracking cross-training metrics and internal leadership promotions.

Guest Recovery Rates: Evaluating the team's autonomous ability to turn negative guest touchpoints into loyal, returning patrons without escalating to ownership.

This role requires a minimum of 50hrs on the job to integrate, learn and train in the first 90 days.
