Overview
Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – ER travel assignment in Potsdam, NY. Start date: 08/17/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (1900–0700). Weekly pay: $1,949–$2,091. Guaranteed hours: None. This high-acuity ED handles combined adult and pediatric patients in a Level III Trauma Center with Primary Stroke Center designation. EPIC charting is used for documentation.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct emergency care for adult and pediatric patients in a combined ED setting, including triage, initial assessment, and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage resuscitation, vasopressors, and airway support as needed
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, perform ACLS-level interventions, and coordinate timely escalation for unstable patients
- Support airway/ventilation needs (including BiPAP/CPAP as appropriate) and manage acute respiratory events
- Participate in trauma response, neuro assessments for stroke/TIA/trauma, ortho injuries, and severe illness presentations
- Collaborate with Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Interpretation services, and Unit Secretary; document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate SBAR to the team
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, privacy, and care transitions; provide family education and discharge planning as applicable

Requirements
- License: Active New York RN license in hand to submit
- Experience: ED experience required; minimum 2 years; note: another section lists 1 year as required—verify with hiring team
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (current)
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; RN licensure required
- EPIC experience required (hard requirement); unit systems include EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR usage
- Floating: Will float as needed within the ED and related services
- Scheduling: Availability for nights; every other weekend as part of the posted schedule
- RTO: No more than 10 days of approved time off during the contract
- Travel radius: Locals not accepted; candidates must be more than 50 miles away from assignment
- Pre-start onboarding: Modules required; up to 5 hours billable (total may reach 10 hours); confirm specifics per specialty
- Orientation: 24 hours
