Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist

The Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist - Mobility Manager is located at the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System in Leavenworth, KS. This position manages all Veterans Transportation System (VTS) and Beneficiary Travel (BT) Program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel (SMT), mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter-facility transfers, and common carrier transportation. Qualifications Specialized Experience: Minimum one (1) full year of specialized experience at the GS-9 level in the Federal Service, demonstrating knowledge of transportation functions such as fleet management and/or common carrier transportation; planning and directing administrative activities; prioritizing program resources during conflicts; analyzing and evaluating information for efficient and effective transportation program operation; and providing leadership, supervision, instruction and counseling to employees. Education Substitution: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (e.g., LL.M.), with major study in fields related to the position such as accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other related fields. Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combination of completed graduate level education beyond the second year and specialized experience, as described above, may be used to meet total experience requirements for this grade level. NOTE: One (1) full year of work is considered to be 35–40 hours per week. Part‑time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
