Lead React Developer

We are seeking a Lead Frontend Developer for an up-and-coming consumer technology company in the bustling metropolis of New York City.This role is pivotal in revamping high-traffic web interfaces, enhancing performance, and shaping the frontend infrastructure for future projects.This is a chance for a seasoned frontend developer to take charge, work with modern React / Next.js technologies, and progress into a leadership role.ResponsibilitiesLead key frontend projects for popular consumer websitesCreate and enhance web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScriptMake architecture decisions, implement reusable patterns, manage routing, handle data fetching, caching, and define component layoutOptimize Core Web Vitals, SEO, site performance, conversion rates, and overall user experienceCollaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and management teamsElevate coding standards through reviews, mentorship, and sound engineering practicesThrive in an environment that values product quality, speed, and business impactRequirements7+ years of experience in web application developmentExtensive knowledge of ReactProficiency in JavaScript / TypeScriptFamiliarity with modern frontend architectureExperience with Next.js, SSR, SPA, or similar frameworksBackground in creating consumer-focused, high-traffic web applicationsAbility to lead frontend projects from inception to completionSolid grasp of performance optimization, SEO, testing, and maintainable code practicesKeen product intuition and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product and Design teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Next.js App RouterProficiency in Tailwind CSSKnowledge of Playwright or frontend testingExperience with Datadog or observability toolsBackground in Ruby on Rails, Node.js, AWS, Postgres, or MongoDB environmentsDegree in Computer Science or strong CS fundamentalsExperience with notable product companies, engineering-centric organizations, or dynamic startup environmentsAdditional InformationLocation: New York, NYSchedule: onsite Monday through Thursday, remote FridaySalary: $170K to $210K base plus equityRelocation considered, but no assistance providedWork Authorization: Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
