React/Rails Software Developer

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer for an emerging consumer technology company in New York City.This position is perfect for a developer who enjoys creating complete products, from frontend user interfaces to backend systems, data structures, analytics, and performance improvements.The responsibilities directly impact essential customer interactions, such as search functions, bookings, account management, and post-booking processes.ResponsibilitiesDevelop full-stack features for high-traffic consumer workflowsCreate frontend interfaces, backend APIs, data models, and deployment strategiesUtilize React, Next.js, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Postgres, and MongoDBEnhance API architecture, backend operations, performance, reliability, and scalabilityCollaborate with Product, Design, Backend, Platform, and Data teamsEnhance testing, monitoring, dashboards, alerts, tracing, and operational readinessEstablish reusable engineering practices to streamline development processesRequirementsMinimum 4 years of full stack software development experienceDemonstrated expertise in building web applications for production environmentsProficiency in React, modern JavaScript / TypeScriptBackground in backend development using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or similar technologiesExperience with API design and database managementAbility to oversee features across frontend, backend, data, and analyticsStrong focus on product usability and user experienceSolid foundation in engineering principles, including code quality, testing, debugging, and reliabilityPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience with Next.jsKnowledge of Ruby on RailsFamiliarity with AWS servicesExperience with Postgres or MongoDBProficiency in tools like Datadog, RSpec, Playwright, or similar for testing and monitoringDegree in Computer Science or strong computer science backgroundExperience with consumer products, marketplace platforms, SaaS solutions, or fast-growing startupsAdditional InformationLocation: New York, NYSchedule: onsite Monday-Thursday, remote work on FridaysSalary: $160K to $180K base pay with equity incentivesOpportunity for relocation, but relocation support is not providedAuthorization: Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship from the employer.
