Quality Inspector II

Quality Inspector IIHelander Metal Spinning Company is looking for a Quality Inspector II to perform full dimensional and visual inspection on precision aerospace components, working independently within an AS9100D quality system. You'll interpret drawings and GD&T, support AS9102 First Article Inspection, and initiate nonconformance reports when something's off. Helander has a defined inspector ladder - Inspector II, Inspector III, and Senior Inspector/CMM Programmer - so there's a real path forward if you want to grow into CMM programming or a more senior inspection role. If you know your way around calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gauges, and you want to work in a stable, established aerospace-manufacturing shop, this is worth a look.What You'll Be DoingPerform full dimensional and visual inspections independently using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gaugesInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)Support AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) and document resultsInitiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and support disposition activitiesMaintain inspection records and traceability per AS9100D requirementsSupport in-process, receiving, and final inspection activities as assignedEquipment and SoftwareHand inspection tools - calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gauges (core daily equipment)CMM - occasional exposure is a plus, not required on day oneWhat We're Looking ForRequired:3+ years of dimensional inspection experience in a machining or precision manufacturing environmentStrong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation (ASME Y14.5)Proficiency with hand inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges)Accurate, disciplined documentation of inspection resultsPreferred:AS9102 First Article Inspection experienceCMM exposure (operation or basic programming)Aerospace, AS9100, or NADCAP experiencePay, Benefits, and SchedulePay: $28-$35/hr, commensurate with demonstrated inspection capability.
