Since 1912, TMS has been open to everyone wanting to learn, create, celebrate, and heal with music, serving more than 9,000 members of the Greater Cleveland community each year. POSITION DETAILS Classification: Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports To: Chair, Center for Music Location: TMS University Circle and Ohio City Campuses Start Date: August 31, 2026 RESPONSIBILITIES Provide high-quality Suzuki instruction to students of all ages and skill levels Customize teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles and goals Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrative staff, and colleagues Participate in faculty meetings, student recitals, and occasional community engagement activities Maintain accurate student attendance records and uphold administrative expectations regarding scheduling and billing Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment Maintain on-site availability for afternoon and evening hours for individual lessons, and Tuesday evenings for Suzuki group classes QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in music or related field required; Master's or equivalent professional experience preferred At least one year of previous teaching experience required; community music school experience preferred Registered Suzuki training through Book 3 preferred; commitment to pursue additional training (with financial assistance) in the future Strong communication and interpersonal skills COMPENSATION $40.00–$46.66 per hour for individual instruction, determined by education and experience. $42.00–$52.50 per session for Suzuki group classes based on weekly contact hours. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cleveland Theater Alliance
