Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. We are currently seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support our St. Ann’s location in the city of Bronx, NY. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests; records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, smoke status, etc.; documents reason for visit. Performs in-house labs, collects specimens for outside labs (ex. Pap, cultures, etc.); performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols. Keeps clinical area stocked and in good order; assures that all dated material is kept current and disposes of outdated supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each time this service is performed. Performs basic clerical work in service area; answers phones in an appropriate manner, communicates problems/concerns to nurse, and handles telephone inquiries. Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained. Minimum Education Requirement: High School diploma/GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate Preferred Education Requirement: Associate’s degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate Minimum Related Work Experience: 0–1 year Preferred Specialized Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual Spanish is preferred Job Type: Full Time Pay: $20.50 – $22.00 per hour Responsibilities: The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
