Machinist - 2nd Shift

MachinistThe Machinist position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components.Location: Stuart, FL. On-Site. Monday to Friday, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM (10% Shift Differential).Responsibilities:Operate Manual or CNC equipment to produce components as outlined in the methods and process sheetsChanges, sets, and adjusts precision tools as requiredLoads and deletes programs in the computerLearn the machinability of metalsDemonstrate a good mechanical aptitudeChecks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintainedPerforms routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine functionMaintains a neat and orderly work areaFollows all applicable safety rules and precautionsPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitudeKnowledge and ability to use machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instrumentsKnowledge of shop geometry and trigonometryEffective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organizationGood math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsWorking Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear.The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds.Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floorWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions.The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat.The noise level in the work environment is usually middling.The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
