Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery with at least 2 years of experience. The position involves working 12-hour shifts, primarily during the day, from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery nursing.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- STABLE certification (required prior to start date)
- AWHONN certification (in hand)
- NRP certification (preferred)
Skills:
- Antepartum care
- Triage of obstetrical patients
- Use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
- Assisting in high-risk deliveries
- C/S circulation and recovery
- Sterile vaginal exams
- Maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Administering anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
Charting Experience: Must have experience with any community hospital charting system.

Unit Details

Details about the unit include:

Daily patient census and patient age groups are variable based on unit demand.
Expected facility birth rate is between 100-200 births per month.
Interdisciplinary support is available within the unit.

Compliance and Orientation

Compliance documentation is due one week prior to the start date. Orientation sessions include:

Hospital orientation: Mondays from 08:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Unit-specific orientation until completion of the confirmed shift
HealthStream modules (8 hours) during orientation.

Additional Information

Floating to other units may be required based on skill mix and patient needs.
Be advised that random drug screens may be administered at any time.
Travelers with a gap of more than 30 days between assignments will need to undergo a new drug screen, background check, and orientation.
