Senior Accountant

CooperDouglas has partnered with a leading healthcare technology company in Southern California to hire a Senior Accountant.

This is a hybrid role in Escondido. Expect more time on site in the first few weeks while you learn the business.

What you will do

• Own the month-end close
• Handle revenue recognition and accruals under US GAAP
• Run AP, AR, invoicing and expense/corporate card administration, and help transition the transactional work to a new team member
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Build and maintain the revenue forecast and help stand up the company's first annual budget
• Help eliminate the reliance on an outside bookkeeper
• Improve workflows with automation and AI-enabled tools; the company is open to new systems and may change its accounting platform
• Support audit, tax and compliance work as the company grows

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close
• Start-up or small-company experience where you built or improved processes
• Some exposure to forecasting or budgeting
• Self-starter who picks things up quickly and can run the role without a lot of direction
• Comfortable doing both higher-level projects and digging into transactions
• Stable work history
• Comfortable with cloud accounting platforms and AP/expense tools, and curious about AI and new technology
• Healthcare or tech experience is a plus, not a requirement
