Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring the ability to interpret telemetry strips and prior travel nursing experience.

Job Details

• Work on a 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit,
• Unit includes 10 semi-private rooms, 1 quadruple room, 1 triple room, 10 private rooms, and 1 negative pressure room,
• Patients admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by a physician,
• Care for patients on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips,
• Care for NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients (with and without interventions),
• Primary diagnoses include CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, and Pneumonia,
• Also care for patients with EtOH and dementia with cardiac co-morbidities, plus occasional surgical patients,
• RN to patient ratio is 1:4 (max 5) on day and evening shifts, and 1:5-6 on night shift,
• Day shift on weekdays includes a Charge RN without a patient assignment,
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting,
• Night shift schedule with every-other-weekend requirement,
• 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule options available,
• Shift hours are 19:00-07:30,
• Night positions do not rotate,
• Floating required to applicable units as needed,

Job Requirements

• Active MA RN license required (NURSYS and BON verification required, no conditional licenses accepted),
• AHA BLS certification required,
• Telemetry certification required,
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in one location required,
• Minimum of 2 years of travel nursing experience required,
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required,
• Knowledge of cardiac drips required,
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patient care preferred but not required,
• Epic EMR charting experience required,
