Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer IIIElectrical Engineer III is responsible for preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and studies of electrical systems for ground mount utility-scale solar PV power plants. Ensure that design conforms to AHJ codes and/or Owner specifications. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure design compatibility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and evaluate electrical system requirements for utility-scale solar PV power plantsDirect and/or develop electrical layouts using AutoCADDevelop electrical studies and calculations using ETAPDirect Electrical Designers and Engineers to prepare and revise electrical drawings and calculationsParticipate in 'Page Turn' reviews with construction and project management teamsProvide construction support during the project execution phaseSupervisory Responsibilities:Supervise Electrical Designers and Electrical EngineersEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited universityRegistered Professional EngineerMinimum eight (8) years relevant work experienceProficiency with AutoCADProficiency with application of NFPA 70 (NEC)Ability to perform electrical studies using ETAP softwareStrong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable presenting to and interacting with consultants, authorities with jurisdiction, and customersExperience with design of solar PV projects (desired)Experience with electric utilities (desired)Ability to obtain out-of-state PE license(s)Physical Requirements/Work Environment:Work is performed in the office and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to weather elements when in the field.
