The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments safely and accurately while providing compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to excellence in oncology services. Responsibilities:
- Operate linear accelerator, simulator, and related imaging equipment as directed by physicians.
- Deliver radiation treatments according to prescribed treatment plans and established protocols.
- Position patients accurately to ensure high-quality treatment planning and delivery.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately identify treatment areas for simulation and therapy.
- Monitor patient safety throughout treatment procedures.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
- Troubleshoot equipment operation and perform basic equipment adjustments when appropriate.
- Train and support student radiation therapists and colleagues in equipment operation and departmental procedures.
- Maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and the public.
- Apply written guidelines, policies, and standardized work practices consistently.
- Identify and communicate patient care or equipment-related concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate treatment documentation and records.
- Completion of an accredited radiation therapy program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiation therapy techniques, and radiation safety practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
