Screens for suicidal ideation and assists in crisis situations. Works closely with team to ensure quality care provision. Aids students with scheduling, completing necessary documentation for services, and triage. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and possibly during holidays. This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. There are two vacancies available.What a day of a Mental Health Professional looks like:Conducts student intakes, triages students in crisis, and schedules ongoing counseling and case management appointments. Facilitates therapeutic groups and individual counseling sessions.Utilizes specific technology, frameworks, and platforms to manage caseload.Responds to inquiries and requests for linkage to community resources and differing college resources from students, staff, and the public.Provides input to supervisor regarding departmental, or area, objectives, goals, or priorities.Assists with department data analytics and documentation, including student charts.Participates in classroom and public speaking events.Prepares correspondences, reports, and other administrative duties to support projects and the department.Develops and strengthens relationships with community and campus service providers and works collaboratively to ensure successful outcomes.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:Education and Experience:Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health CounselingSome experience in individual and group counselingKnowledge of:Local community resources throughout Palm Beach CountySuicide assessment, differing therapeutic modalities and therapeutic issuesMicrosoft Office Professional or similar applicationSkilled in:Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task managementManaging and resolving conflict in a positive mannerIdentifying, analyzing, and resolving problems, driving solutions through to completionWorking with diverse populations who may be experiencing mental health challenges, housing and food insecurities, and additional psycho-social stressorsAbility to:Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of serviceInteract in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the publicOrganize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectivenessProvide services on multiple campus locations as well as experience providing virtual therapeutic appointments.Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:Registered Intern seeking licensure within the State of FloridaValid Florida driver's licenseRequires travel between campus locationsRegular physical attendance requiredPreferred, but not a must:Education and Experience:Experience in a higher education settingKnowledge of:Jotform softwareLicenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health CounselorWork Environment and Physical Demand:Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing up to 20 poundsLift, carry, push, pull, install, or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 poundsReach and grasp objectsStoop, bend, kneel, or crouchUse of video display terminalUse of manual dexterity and fine motor skillsCommunicate information orally and in writingReceive and understand information through oral and written communicationProofread and check documents for accuracyWork with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injuryOperate a motor vehicleWork a fluctuating work scheduleThis job description is intended to be generic in nature and describe the essential functions of the job.
