Gross Weekly Pay: $2,356

A Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist operates specialized computerized X-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional body images for patient diagnosis. They prepare and position patients, administer contrast materials safely, ensure strict radiation protection standards, and collaborate closely with radiologists.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care: Screen medical history for allergies or contraindications, explain procedures, and correctly position patients.

Scan Operations: Operate CT scanners and inject contrast agents while adhering to safety regulations and ALARA radiation principles.

Image Quality: Verify clarity and technical quality of images before sending them to radiologists.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting checks on hardware and software.

Team Collaboration: Communicate urgent results and work with nurses, physicians, and care teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an AMA-approved radiography program.

Certifications: National registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (with a specialized CT credential preferred or required).

State Licensure: Active state medical radiologic technologist license (e.g., Texas Medical Board certification if practicing locally).

Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.

Physical Needs: Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift or maneuver patients (40-50 lbs).
