Legal Practice Specialist

Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP is a Colorado-based law firm with offices in Boulder and Denver. This is not a traditional legal assistant role. This position is primarily based in our Boulder office with the flexibility to work from home on a hybrid schedule.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to a litigation partner across all stages of active cases
• Prepare, proofread, and manage litigation documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
• Maintain and organize case files, deadlines, and court calendars with precision — nothing falls through the cracks
• Coordinate with Co-Counsel, courts, opposing counsel, clients, and third-party vendors
• Draft routine correspondence and legal documents for attorney review
• Conduct factual research and compile case background summaries
• Monitor case dockets and proactively flag upcoming deadlines, procedural requirements, and potential scheduling conflicts
• Manage e-filing in state and federal courts
• Identify inefficiencies in workflows and propose solutions before problems arise
• Leverage AI tools and emerging legal technology to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and free up time for higher-value work

• 1–2 years of experience in a professional services environment — law firm experience is a plus but not required; non-traditional candidates with the right skills and mindset are strongly encouraged to apply
• Outstanding attention to detail — this is non-negotiable
• Genuine curiosity about new industries and different areas of law — you enjoy learning the landscape of whatever matter lands on your desk
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under deadline pressure
• A proactive, anticipatory mindset — you think ahead and act before being asked
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with document management systems a plus
• Comfort using — or eagerness to learn — AI tools to enhance productivity and support smarter, more efficient ways of working
• Poise and professionalism when engaging with high-profile clients — you are confident, composed, and polished in any room
• A collaborative attitude and the professional presence to interact seamlessly with clients, opposing counsel, and the bench

Nice to Have

• Paralegal certificate or relevant coursework in legal studies
• Experience with Colorado state and/or federal court e-filing systems
• Familiarity with litigation document management platforms (e.g., NetDocuments)
• Background supporting construction litigation or complex commercial matters

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, salaried position. The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $60,000 – $80,000.
